On March 17, 2010, the fifth grade class went on a trip to the Clary Anderson Arena to ice skate. We walked all the way from the school to the ice rink. Many kids surprised themselves, because they didn?t know they could actually skate. I was one of the people that didn?t think they could skate. In fact, I found out I could speed skate! We were on the ice for an hour and a half and at the end we took a group picture. It was very fun and riveting. On the way back many people?s feet were sore and they didn?t think they could make it back, but they did.

The Montclair Art Museum
MAM (The Montclair Art museum) was very colorful. It had lots of paintings and sculptures. They had a whole exhibit on Native Americans. They had everything from masks to mocassins. There were abstract paintings, realistic paintings, and landscapes, and some pictures by George Innis. George Innis was a famous painter who lived in Montclair. Some of his paintings were realistic and some were abstract. This trip also included a hands-on aspect. The tour guide told us about landscapes. Then we drew pictures in an art room and then we painted the pictures with water colors.
